We source only from farmers in North Carolina and the surrounding region and are committed to paying them fairly. We collaborate with allied local businesses in rural communities and sell our products to local markets. This helps keep your food dollars circulating in the local economy.
Our farmers raise healthy animals that are never fed antibiotics or animal by-products, nor do they receive added hormones.*
Our farmers raise their animals outdoors, on a small scale, taking care to minimize the concentration of waste and protect soil and water resources.
Cattle and hogs are raised outdoors in their natural habitats, engaging in innate, biological behaviors. In other words, cattle graze on grass and hogs root, wallow and nest. All of the animals we purchase are processed in small-scale, inspected facilities where humane handling is practiced and care is taken throughout the harvest process.
