Early in their relationship, Jane and Geof Gledhill purchased the land that is now Cedar Grove Windy Hill Farm. Jane brought her passion for goats and Geof a long-standing interest in raising beef cattle.
Together they developed the farm, improving its pastures, planting blueberries, and producing various value-added products, including goats milk soap. They did this while also raising three children and holding down full-time jobs. Geof worked for many years as an attorney and Jane continues to work as a midwife.
In 2011, Geof and Jane became one of Firsthand Foods very first beef producers and helped to establish our network. Intuitively grasping our mission, they valued the opportunity to be a part of growing a local market for pasture-raised beef. Sadly, Geof passed away in 2017 and is dearly missed. The farm and its many inhabitants continue to thrive. Cedar Grove Windy Hill Farm is now home to their daughter, Chiara her husband, Russell, and their daughter, Eve. Chiara has developed the farm into a popular wedding venue and Russell manages numerous farm projects when he isn’t otherwise working as a middle school teacher.
