We’re hiring a part-time delivery driver for 10-12 hours per week for three morning shifts (T, W, TH). Join our dynamic team and help us distribute the Triangle’s best pasture-raised meats!
The Part-Time Delivery Driver position is an integral member of the operations team at Firsthand Foods, ensuring our customers are satisfied with our delivery services and receive their orders safely and on-time. Responsibilities of this position include:
- Manually load customer orders into the company vehicle (i.e., refrigerated van) using a pallet jack as needed.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes throughout the Triangle, Piedmont and, on occasion, to Roanoke, Virginia.
- Drive company vehicles and deliver customer orders, ensuring cold temperatures are maintained throughout the drive.
- Unload customer orders according to customer instructions and ensure invoices are delivered to the customer and returned signed copies to management.
- Always interact with customers in a kind manner, answering questions they may have and listening for information that might be useful for other Firsthand Foods team members to know.
- Meet weekly with our Operations Manager for a quick check-in to confirm instructions and delivery routes.
- Understand our company mission, core values, products, and practices, including especially food safety and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications
Candidate must:
- Have previous driving experience.
- Speak English and have a valid driver’s license.
- Have a clean driving record with no major violations in the past 5 years and be able to be covered by Firsthand Foods auto policy.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safe driving practices at all times, including obeying all posted speed limits, traffic signals, and road signs. Drivers are expected to maintain a safe following distance, avoid distractions such as mobile device use while operating a vehicle, and always wear a seatbelt. All drivers must conduct a pre-trip vehicle inspection and promptly report any mechanical issues or concerns to management.
- Be able to routinely lift 50-lb boxes off the ground and overhead and walk, stand, bend, twist and perform a variety of other physical functions for prolonged periods of time.
Hours
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday mornings from approximately 8AM – 11AM with an occasional longer day on Thursdays.
