With a degree in Animal Science from NC State, Kim now works as the Person County Livestock Agent, helping coordinate educational and technical assistance programs for area livestock producers. Chad works for the Carrboro Fire Department, and he and Kim devote all of their spare time to managing their herd and pastures. Recent projects include installing fencing to segregate areas that can be planted to annuals and supporting their intensive rotational grazing practice. Kim and Chad also work with local breweries (e.g., TOPO Distillery, Yesteryears, Neuse River Brewing, etc…) to source spent grain to feed their cattle as a supplement to hay and forages.
